A Save the Date is a notice stating the date of a wedding or any other formal event. It usually states the date when a couple plans to marry and the city and state.
By knowing the date in advance, the recipients will be able to keep their schedules clear and also start thinking on traveling arrangements for those our of town guest in advance. You can also add accommodation information, give helpful tips about airfare, transportation or hotel arrangements for out-of-town guests, it is ok to include local attractions as well.
Save the Dates are usually mailed out five months before the actual wedding date, but it is acceptable to send them out as soon as the couple have confirmed their wedding date. Two types of Reserve the date are very common, the cards and magnets.
The wording on most save the date is straight to the point regardless of the type you select. The cards will allow you to be a little more extence on the writing, the magnets will allow you to say what you need and no much more, but it can be kept in the refrigerator door (well most people do). |
