GETTING YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE...

Getting your marriage license can be different from state to state. Any resident or non-resident may apply for it. Here are some important things to know:

if any of the party getting married is a minor, the consent of both parents is required or the parent with the custodial right if the parents are divorce. A birth certificate must be provided indicating the parents full name.

Florida residents who decided not to take the 4 hour minimum Premarital Course will have to wait 3 days to be able to finilize the marriage. They will receive the marriage license on the dayof the application, but it will not become effective until after the three days. This rule does not apply for non-Florida residents.

There are no medical exams or blood tests required in order to apply for a Marriage License.

Both person must apply together with a valid photo I.D. such as a driver's license, state or federal I.D. or a passport with name, date of birth and signature.

You can apply for a Marriage License in Miami-Dade County at any of the following locations, Monday to Friday during the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
