A wedding planner is essential for any type of wedding, whether in Florida or not. Somebody has to take the role of the wedding planner in every wedding. That wedding planner can be the bride, friends and family members of the bride, or a wedding planning professional. Even though many brides do not hire a professional wedding planner for fear of spending more money on their wedding, most of the times it is cheaper for a wedding planner to take care of the entire event, because the bride will not have to spend the 250 hours (over 6 weeks!) required to plan the average wedding and the wedding planner will be able to obtain better prices on the remaining wedding services. We work with a number of wedding planners in Florida. The level of coordination that you need for your wedding will determine the total cost for planning the event. Some brides want the wedding planner to simply coordinate the day of the wedding. This level of wedding planning is cheaper because the wedding planner is only making sure that all the other wedding vendors are doing their jobs correctly, not choosing and hiring the wedding vendors herself. If instead the bride wants a full wedding planning package that requires not only wedding day coordination but also selecting and dealing with the wedding vendors from day one, she will of course have to pay more. The total cost will vary from planner to planner. Some planners charge a percentage of the entire cost of the wedding itself and some charge a flat dollar amount. There are also other wedding planners that provide other wedding services themselves (photography, DJ, notary, location, etc.) and charge less if the bride hires the wedding planner to provide those services also. Whatever type of wedding planner you hire, remember that you decide how your wedding will be. The wedding planner simply makes it happen.
